Melfort Campbell

Melfort Campbell is a highly active member of the Scottish business community. Having served as Chairman of CBI Scotland in 2006, and Chaired the Board of Governors of the Robert Gordon University 2008-10, he holds a number of more recent appointments. These include: Scottish Enterprise Board Member, Chair Oil and Gas Expert Commission, Tax Reform Commission, the Business Universities Task Force and as visiting Professor at Strathclyde University .

His original venture, Water Weights, was established in 1985; this now forms part of Imes Group, employing over 240 staff with an annual turnover of £17 million with partnerships across 17 different countries. In recognition of his services to industry in Scotland he was awarded the OBE in 2005.

Melfort is now non executive in his business interests so has the opportunity to focus on personal interests which include development of links between business communities and education; promoting business innovation and linking business to academic and scientific research to economic value add.

He has significant charitable interests; he is Chairman of the Atlantic Salmon Trust and is a board member of Dreamstore, which supports and promotes activities benefitting education, social inclusion, and conservation through angling.

Married to Lucy with 3 daughters, home is in Aberdeenshire.
