Andrew Tipping

Andrew is the Commercialisation Manager at ORE Catapult, where he has been works with the OEMs and wind farm operators, to identify key innovation challenges that could potentially reduce risk and costs within the offshore wind industry. He has created a set of targeted ‘innovation challenges’ across the main technology areas including; installation, O&M, foundations & substructures, blades and powertrain systems, with the aim of stimulating needs driven innovation in the UK supply chain.

With a background in sales, market research and technology commercialisation, Andrew works with Catapult’s network of SMEs to identify routes to market, funding avenues and investment opportunities. Prior to this role Andrew spent three years in Business Development working with leading offshore renewable technology developers seeking to prove their new innovations through testing and demonstration. He also delivered two ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) supply chain development projects, working with companies seeking to enter the offshore renewables industry.
